Whilst sections of the UK trade are likely to suffer some degree of reduction in custom and therefore profits, there will also be winners. Those with a great outdoor space and/or a good food offering, are likely to weather the storm fairly untouched. However, if you have neither of these services you need to start thinking now about what you can do to attract new customers and keep as many of your existing customers as possible ahead of the approaching Winter months.
Not having an outdoor space does not need to spell disaster. Ask yourself these questions and see what ideas you come up with
• How is your premises better/different than the competition? - What can you do to capitalise on this?
• Are there other services you could offer that would make you more appealing to a wider audience?
• Could you sell more food or would this be throwing good money after bad?
• What kind of customers do you have and what do they like to do?
If sport is a big draw can you offer the best match day services?
